Writing in Social and Behavioral
Studies
The Division of Social and Behavioral Studies comprises
four
departments: history,
intercultural studies,
political
studies, and psychology. The
student writing required in the courses offered in these
departments varies, but all of these disciplines come
under the umbrella heading of "social science," as far as
academic writing is concerned, and scholars in these
fields follow either American Psychological Association (APA) style
(psychology, intercultural studies, political studies)
or Modern Languages Association (MLA) style (history) for formal writing.
